Swimmers’ stroke technique will continue to be critiqued and corrected whilst participating in swim sets designed to increase endurance, fitness and speed. Coaches will further encourage swimmers to develop a good sense of self feedback via the strong ‘feel’ for the water that was introduced in Green/Blue squad. Speed and power will also be added to the race skills learnt in previous squads.
In preparation for higher squad levels Bronze squad sessions are designed to be challenging. Swimmers may find this step up hard and take a little while to adjust to the increased work load. To get the most out of the sessions it is important for swimmers to commit to the recommended attendance of 3 sessions per week. Commitment in itself is an important and necessary skill for swimmers to learn and is a must have for the Silver and Gold Squads where minimum attendance is a requirement.
Bronze Squad swimmers should be attending Riverside club days and giving all scheduled events a go. Swimmers are also encouraged to attend target meets as set out by the coach.
